Meet the Coaches
Sammi Hughes - Programme Director & Head Coach
Sammi was a competitive gymnast for 10 years followed by coaching development squad gymnasts. It wasnt until she attended the University of Hertfordshire in 2010 and joined the Hertfordshire Sirens that she fell in love with Cheerleading. She competed at level 3 with her team before joining Fierce Athletics Coed 4.
She coached Meapa Fusion Cheer for 2 years ending with all 3 teams becoming national champions! The last season she created Intensity Cheer Extreme and coached all 7 teams to fantastic results.
Being a gymnastics coach, Sammi has a strong passion for tumbling and clean routines! She coaches all the teams at ICE and enjoys seeing all levels progress!

Julie Hughes - Co-Founder & Head Tumble Coach
Julie has been a gymnastics coach for over 10 years, coaching her gymnasts to great success at competitions.
Julie helped coach at Meapa Fusion Cheer for two years and was a co-founder of Intensity Cheer Extreme.
She is the head tumble coach at ICE and focuses on teaching good technique.
This season, Julie will be coaching Icicles, Energy, Shock, Fury & Ice 5 as well as tumbling for all teams.

Poppy Caller - Assistant Coach
Poppy was a competitive gymnast before joining Meapa Fusion in 2011. She now competes in ICE senior 4 team.
Last season Poppy helped coach Force and Heat to fantastic results. This year she will also assist coaching Eclipse & Passion.

Lucy Valentine - Junior Coach
Lucy was a competitive gymnast before joining Meapa Fusion in 2011. She now competes in ICE Senior 2 & Senior 4 team.
Last season Lucy helped coach Energy and Shock to fantastic results. This year she will also assist coaching Fury.
Qualifications:
This season lucy will be working towards her USASF levels 1-2 in stunts and tumbles.
